| 20th July 2010
Many thanks to all who attended our Annual General Meeting held on July
18th 2010. For those who were unable to attend please see below the major
points of discussion from the meeting, and the changes that have been
made to our football club for this coming season.
Committee Members:
Chairman – Steve Bailey
Treasurer – Glen De Young
Secretary – Dave Scholz
Fixture Secretary – Dave Scholz
1st Team Managers – Dave Scholz & Colin Hayman
1st Team Players Representative – Andy Hobbs
2nd Team Managers – Martyn Potter & Neil Kindred
2nd Team Players Representative – Mick Howells
Website Manager – Steve Bailey
Ashley Wood
Ricky Clanford
Jacqui De Young
Arren De Young
Chris Rowe
Beryl Morris
We are really pleased to have added 4 new members to our committee in
Arren De Young, Chris Rowe, Mick Howells and Andy Hobbs, but we would
still like to see more people showing an interest in getting involved.
We would particularly like some of the players to take charge of organizing
social events (such as the sponsored 3 legged pub crawl we did last season)
to help raise money for the club, if you can help out and want to join
the committee or know someone outside the club who does, please let us
know.
Andy and Mick have taken on the roles as 1st and 2nd team players representatives,
this means that they will be able to bring up any issues that the players
have throughout the season.
So if you are unhappy with something at the club, if you have something
to say that you think will improve the club or if you simply think we
need to organize a social night, don’t keep it to yourself, let
Andy or Mick know your thoughts and they can bring it up at the next committee
meeting and make sure something gets done about it.
Signing on fee:
It was agreed that the annual signing on fee should remain at £15.00
per player, this includes your membership to the social club, registration
fee to the South Devon League and insurance costs.
Can all players please pay their signing on fees promptly before the start
of the new season.
If it wasn’t for certain committee members’ hard work, the
pitch would not be cut, rolled and marked for you every week, the changing
rooms would not get painted and cleaned, the kit wouldn’t get washed,
and you wouldn’t have any food after matches.
It is easy to just turn up every week and play football then go home and
forget about it until the next Saturday.
Work to be done:
There is a lot of work to do around the changing rooms and pitch to get
everything ready for this season, the away changing room needs painting,
the dugouts need painting, the railings outside the changing rooms need
painting, the compound needs clearing out, fence posts need replacing
etc etc…
THIS SATURDAY 24th JULY we will be spending the day
working on the pitch and changing rooms and are asking ALL PLAYERS
and COMMITTEE MEMBERS to turn up and help out.
We will light a barbeque and cook up some burgers and hot dogs for everyone
who turns up and will make sure we have a bit of a laugh whilst we are
doing these jobs.
So can everyone please make a special effort to spare as much time as
they can on Saturday to get the place up to standard for the start of
the new season and show us your commitment to YOUR football club.
Don’t just leave it to the same people to do all the work for you,
if you take them for granted they will not keep on doing it, so we look
forward to seeing you there on Saturday to help out.
Thanks.
